I think I'm finally getting over an awful sinus infection, so Shane and I were able to go out yesterday and "celebrate" our wedding anniversary about 10 days late. We had a very nice late lunch at an Italian restaurant, although, for some reason I felt like ordering prime rib instead of Italian food.
One thing I've noticed is that when I'm feeling well and everything at home is running smoothly, I easily stick to my meal plan. But when I'm sick, or even when someone else in the house is sick, we're much more likely to go off our meal plan and get restaurant food. For example, the Eggs Benedict I'd planned for Friday night got replaced with a simpler meal of loaded baked potatoes and salad and then got scratched in favor of carryout Popeye's chicken and all the fixin's. I was feeling especially yucky that day and that made it really hard not to give into my craving for some spicy chicken. And I have to admit, it did satisfy that craving.
Hopefully, I'll be able to stick the plan this week:
Sunday and Wednesday: Crispy Baked Chimichangas (black beans, two cheeses, red peppers, corn, cilantro and Mexican seasonings), Ranch Pasta Salad, Garden Salad
Monday and Thursday: Canadian Bacon Pizza, Garden Salad
Tuesday: Grilled KC Strip Steaks, Baked Potatoes, Asparagus
Friday: Beer Can Chicken (either on the grill or in the oven), Green Beans, Garlic Roasted Potatoes
Saturday: Eggs Benedict, Asparagus, Hash Browns (for some reason, this keeps getting moved from one weekly menu to the next)
