Monday Morning Chit Chat - Fine Fall Weather Edition

Good Monday to everyone! How was your weekend? We had another beautiful weekend, 80-something on Saturday, not quite into the 80s on Sunday. I'm sure we don't have many more of these in store before winter sets in, so we're enjoying them while we can.

Kat spent most of the weekend with her step-grandparents (her step-dad's parents). They took her to a hayride and cookout on Saturday night, then out for a nice lunch and to the park on Sunday.

Shane and I spent Saturday afternoon and evening at our friends house in the country again. John had to work, so Shane fished at the pond while I went to a Creative Memories party that Trish was having. After the party and after John came home from work and some other folks showed up, we sat around eating snacks and talking all evening. We called it an early evening around 9:30 or so; we're still not used to being out after dark. ;)

Sunday we lounged around the house for a couple of hours after we woke up, then Shane did a little more work on the sun room. It doesn't look much different than last week, though, so no pictures this time. I worked inside, straightening things and cooking. I made some Kielbasa and Cabbage Soup, cornbread, and a peach galette. I'll post some of the recipes in the next day or two.

Our week ahead looks busy. Kat has another dentist appointment this afternoon. On Friday, she has a field trip to Missouri Town 1855, then that evening her school is hosting a Trunk or Treat event.

If all goes well, we'll be spending next weekend helping to move my daughter Jean and her hubby into their "new" old house.  They are just waiting for one last walk-through and for the closing to be scheduled.

I hope everyone is looking at a great week ahead of them, too. Anyone else starting in on the Halloween fun this week?

Good morning, hope you post a recipe for that soup! Except for the hard work of moving, a new home is always fun. Have a great week.

Good morning. We had a lovely weekend here--just took care of some things around the house but it was nice. Of course, Kevin played in the RV!! I love the house--I can just imagine sitting on the porch with a glass of tea and knitting or crocheting!! I love porches.
We live too far out in the country for trick or treaters. I really liked seeing the little kids when we lived in town--they get so excited!
I hope you have a wonderful week. Take care.

A pretty quiet weekend round here, I tried some jedi mind tricks on the trees around our back garden to see if they could be talked into dropping their leaves somewhere else, but that didn't work (surprising) so out came the broom:)

The new house looks beautiful. Robert would love a porch but it would be more of a permanent umbrella here;)

Melynda: Yes, the soup recipe will be posted soon.

This will be their first house as homeowners. That's always exciting.

Sheila: For Jean, better make it tea and a sketch pad or a good book to read. Although she did mention that she's trying to teach herself to knit.

Leanne: I rented a house with a covered porch once and didn't take advantage of it. I wish I had, though.

Your life is always so busy.
We have had some nice weather around here too. But it is going to freeze probably by the end of the week so I'm trying to get it all done outside.
Have a great week!
