I'll Be Feeling Like Myself In No Time

I've been feeling a little overwhelmed lately. Between my mom's failing health, school starting back up, socializing with new friends, trying to wrap up gardening and realizing the holiday season is just around the corner, I figured it was just life that's been getting me down the past several weeks.

Instead, it seems my thyroid hormone levels are out of whack. The blood tests from Monday's check up show that I'm running really low. I've had thyroid issues for about 9 years now, but my blood hormone levels have been consistent for the last 2-3 years, so it came as a surprise to me for them to be so far off my normal. I'm also surprised that I didn't notice it myself, but I suppose it's simply because they have been so consistent that I missed some other signs, like the inability to concentrate some days and more hair winding up in my hairbrush than usual.

The doc upped my thyroid dosage by 50%. That should perk me back up within a week, giving me more energy and better ability to concentrate. That's a huge increase in meds for me, but I have another blood test scheduled for a month from now, and I'm sure the doctor will probably decrease the dosage a bit at that time.

It's not that I've felt horrible, but I'm looking forward to feeling more like myself again soon. I might even get back to posting here more than a couple of times a week. :)

The Thyroid issue can really take you down some notches on energy, huh?! My sister has had issues like that too.
I hope you're back to your old self soon!

I have thyroid issues too. It sucks. So I feel your pain or would it be your tired. You are blessed that you have a doctor that is so willing to help you.
Take care!

I hope you are feeling better soon. I'm glad the doctor caught it before it went much further. Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.

That sucks, but I'm glad you found a treatable reason for it and that you will be feeling as right as rain in no time at all. Take care of yourself.

How are you doing? Has the med change helped? Think of you often, but oh my I'm terrible at commenting. :-/
