What I Bought - May 2011

Here is my recap of my May grocery spending. This is mostly for my own reference, although I know there are a couple of you out there who enjoy this kind of post as well.

I ended May with a total of $213.33 spent on groceries. That includes sales tax, and is just for food items bought at the store to consume at home. It doesn't include any household, pet or HBA items, nor any meals bought away from home. Also, we are a family of three.

Most of the groceries were bought at Aldi. The rest was bought at other grocery stores when on sale or when I just had to have something not available at Aldi.  Unless I've listed a brand name, all items are store brands.

This month increased quite a bit over last month and is our most expensive month so far this year.   Shane came home from his work trip on 5/13, so he was here half the month and I admit that I spoiled him with some favorites.  We hosted a cookout on 5/28 and bought just a few things that we wouldn't have otherwise bought.

Kat had a school field trip that required lunch items in completely disposable wrapping, so I bought some juice pouches and a Lunchable. Finally, my daughter Jean and I went to a couple of u-pick farms where I bought 13 pounds of strawberries and a couple of pounds of asparagus; combined they added $34 to this month's total.

Well I thought "I" was a nerd but you got me beat by listing every single item you bought in May!
Not that being a nerd is a bad thing mind you.... ;-)
I think I'd be too scared of what I'd see if I tried making a list like that.lolol
