Monday Morning Chit Chat - Quest For A Tissue Edition

Generally, I'm not picky about tissues, but when I have cold, I want Puffs.  I think they are much softer than other brands.  I don't want the fancy Puffs with the lotion, though.  I don't feel "clean" after I use them.  It just feels like I've wiped snot all over my face.  I just want plain ol' Puffs.

I know there are plenty of you out there who love CVS stores, but I just don't like them.  On the other hand, they are the closest store to our house now that our local hometown drug store is a thing of the past.  This is why, last Friday night when I really needed some Puffs for my sore nose, I popped into CVS.

Now, it may just be this CVS store, but more often than not, they don't have what I'm after, from prescription medication to...well...tissue.  I spent five full minutes trying to track down tissue of any kind in this store and finally found an end cap with Puffs Plus with lotion.  So I continue scouring the store for more tissue.  It's not with the paper towels.  It's not with the diapers, or cold remedies or bathroom tissues.  No...it's on a rack that backs up to the pharmacy counter.  Well, of course, just where I thought it it would be.  They had Kleenex brand and CVS brand, and more Puffs with lotion, but no regular Puffs.

So, I jump back in the van and head to the next closest store that should sell Puffs, which is Target.  Luckily, our Target is not a very busy one; had I had to go to Wal-Mart for the stupid tissues, I would have done without, I think.  Anyway, I walk in and head all the way to the other end of the store to HBA, which is where I would keep the tissues.  But no, that's not where they keep them.  They keep them with paper cups and dryer sheets, in the back of the store, near the toys.  I finally found them, without lotion, and debated on the three-pack but decided I didn't want to spend that much and grabbed a single box and finally headed home.  All's well that ends well, I guess, but I was a little irritated when I saw that three-pack on sale in Sunday morning's target ad.

Sadly, the tissue quest was just about the highlight of my weekend.  Shane worked out of town on Saturday.  I took Kat to her mom for the weekend, forced myself to do an errand or two while I was out, then spent the rest of the day at home with my tissues, begging off from attending a friends baby shower.  On Sunday morning, still feeling yucky, I skipped out of my volunteer recycling work to stay in bed for a while.  I did manage to get up and do a little laundry and bake some bread, though.  Shane took it relatively easy, too, but he did get some veggie seeds planted in some starter pots (more on that tomorrow).

Today, I'm still coughing, but feeling somewhat better; I think I'm about over this cold.  I have several small mystery shops to do this week and I need to drop that shower gift off at my friend's toward the end of the week.  Otherwise, it should be a typical week of cooking and cleaning around here.  Typical is good sometimes.

Hope all of you had a more exciting weekend than I did.  What's in store for you during the week ahead?

Hope you feel better, and I'm with you - the lotion ones make me feel like I'm wiping my face with snot!

Nothing new here, still fighting to stay in Hooterville. Shoot me now, I never thought I'd say that.

*sigh*
