Monday Morning Chit Chat - Doctor Visits Edition

I'm a little late getting the Monday morning post up today; I had a doctor appointment this morning.  It was just a check-up and required visit to get my prescriptions renewed, although it did involve a blood draw to check my thyroid levels and an increase in my propranolol prescription to see if it will further help prevent the migraines I get.  The amount I take now has helped, so we're trying a little more, although the doctor is a little concerned that it may drop my blood pressure too low.  My blood pressure has always been normal to low.  This morning it was 109/66, I think.  The doctor said to call if it drops to 90/50 or below.  Um, yeah...if it gets that low, I'll call her right after I pass out.  Seriously, I think I'd notice before it got that low, but I guess some people don't.

Now I'm back home and see that our cat, Siesta, is sick.  She's vomited a few times this morning, and last night she slept on me all night (not usual for her).  So, she'll be going to the vet this afternoon, just to make sure it's nothing serious.

In other news, I survived my first week with Shane away, and actually had my whole weekend to myself since Kat was with her mom.  On Saturday I did some discount shopping (see my Saturday post) and yesterday I visited my friends John and Trish.  I helped Trish plan out some flower beds for her mom (whose property is adjacent to Trish's) and then played cards with them and our friend Billy for a couple of hours before heading back home.

Overall it was a very low-key weekend.  It was cold and snowy, so there wasn't much I could do outside anyway.

Once I make it through today's ordeal with the doctor and vet, the rest of the week should be pretty ordinary.  It's going to be cold for a few more days, but it's supposed to be in the 70s again by the weekend.

How is your week shaping up?

I hope that they get your meds right. You did make me laugh about picking yourself up off the ground. How could someone not notice>
And my plans for the week are to deal with DJ. He is off for the week. Oh joy.

I usually try to write something funny at this point but Migraines are no laughing matter. I suffer from them myself. And sometimes think that a vessel is going to burst in my head and that will be the end of me. We'll see. I take Xomig ZMT 5mg. Have you tried it? m.

Hope the rest of your week is great!

I hope your migraine meds help. I used to suffer with migraines, as do most of the women in my family. Then I quit my really stressful job and have not had a migraine in 12 years. I feel so blessed.

How are you doing with your meds change and without Shane?

My week was spent dreaming of quitting my job like Frances. ;-)
