Just For The Poll Of It

I bought a new set of sheets the other day to replace a set that are beginning to wear out.  The elastic has no more stretch and there are small threadbare spots developing.

I love the new sheets (Egyptian cotton, 400 thread count), but what to do with the old sheets?  What would you do?  Answer the poll in my sidebar.

BTW, that Tim Matheson sure was a cutie back then.

He WAS! I think it would be fun to make them into togas... but really, if they're pretty threadbare and the elastic is worn out... would you really want to wear them to a party?

I use mine as paint tarps. Or to cover the floor of my van when I go to pick up straw for the henhouse....

McVal: Hmm...maybe to a party of two?

Farmgirl Cyn: Thanks for stopping by. We have used sheets for those things, too. Somehow the straw still got all over the van, anyway. :)

To answer your question about workweek vs. weekend yes our weekends are busier sometimes! LOL

As for the sheets, I'd make costumes for the girls, tug of war for the neighborhood kids, fold and use in the dogs crate, cleaning...lol! I have lots of ideas on that one!

Have a great day!!

Blessings,
Jill

Use 'em for furniture protectors/dustsheets?

You did not offer crafts (except the Mummy costume) but they can be cut or torn into strips and then in bunches of 10 strips woven into a floor mat. It is very absorbent and free to boot!

I know that I must be the weirdest guy in the world but nothing makes me happier than new sheets. In fact, that is what I want for my birthday.
Not a clue what you should do with your old ones. Good question though!

I made one these for Chloe's reading nook in her room and added a couple of appliques more so to cover when they'd been splattered with tempera during her more frenzied painting sessions and I ripped the leftovers into strips and am planning on crocheting them into pot holders. Can never have enough pot holders round this house:)

If it were me, they would go straight to the animal shelter. The SPCA is always begging for old linens, blankets and towels...

I think mine would go to the local animal shelter as well.

I use stuff like that to wash and dry the cars with. Old socks are perfect for tires.
Have a great day.
