Monday Morning Chit Chat

Notice that I didn't provide a summary for my weekend in the title this week.  That's because the only thing I have to say about it is "blah".

I wasn't sick, angry, or sad, and I wasn't really even bored.  I just didn't want to do a thing.  I couldn't quite get away with doing nothing, but I did accomplish very little.

I didn't go anywhere all weekend, despite the weather being so much warmer than recent weeks.   Saturday I started out by cooking some scones from a mix, getting early kitchen preps done for Saturday's supper and lightly cleaning the kitchen.  I called my parents on the phone, and I think I cooked supper (since we ate) but beyond that, I can't even remember what I did for the rest of the day.

On Sunday I made a breakfast/brunch of French Toast, made a few changes to my menu for the upcoming week, took a nap, wrote a blog post and basically did nothing else productive the rest of the day.  Again, I didn't leave the house, although the weather was wonderful for mid-February.

Shane managed to do a little more than I did.  He changed the spark plugs and wires in the truck on Saturday and sanded old paint from some of Kat's furniture yesterday.

I guess some weekends are like this, but I'm glad there aren't many of them.  You'd think slow weekends would be refreshing, but they actually make me feel more sluggish.

I'm hoping for a more productive week ahead.  I have chocolate chip cookies to deliver to Kat's classroom today for Valentine's Day, my friend Sharon and I might be able to have lunch one day now that it's quit snowing for a while, and with any luck I'll make time to do some more garden planning.  Though it doesn't seem like it with snow still on the ground, gardening is just around the corner.

How was your weekend?  And what will you do this week?

We broke our toilet last week so I had the plumber coming to install a new one today. I spent most of the weekend cleaning. The house hasn't been getting any deep cleaning due to our circumstances and I didn't want an outsider thinking (or knowing) we've been living like pigs. I didn't do a deep clean but I did a thorough surface cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom.

I also managed a trip to Goodwill. They had a bunch of community fundraiser type cookbooks for only 47 cents. Also got a pair of White Moutain leather boots (short boots) for $6 and a pair of Privos (by Clarks) for $4.50. Oh a big rectangular Tupperware for 97 cents.

Worked out both days, including twice on Sunday since I decided to take an hour walk outside since it was so nice but I still went to the gym later on.

I made chicken sausage, an apple cake and a chicken and rice dish. I wanted to do something Valentine's Day themed but I didn't get around to it.

I did at least 4 loads of laundry.

Sounds like I was busy but I didn't feel like I accomplished much.

When I have a weekend like that, it seems to take me longer to get back into the groove of the week. I feel better if I have a ton of stuff going on. Just hopefully it isn't real stressful stuff!

I hope you have a good week! Got lots of stuff planned this week. Moving my son out of his apartment tomorrow and moving his ex-girlfriend into our house for a few weeks. Yep - ex-girlfriend... She has no where to go until she gets a job... I feel so bad for her.

I have some weekends like that. Maybe the next one will be better.
