Weekly Menu Retrospective - 11/5 to 12/11

I'm a menu planner, but when I've tried to post my weekly menus here in the past, they weren't accurate because I often change things at the last minute. On the other hand, I really like being able to look back to see what we've eaten, what we loved, what we disliked, and most of all being able to link to the recipes on my menus that have come from other blogs. That's why I prefer to post my weekly menus after the fact.

Sunday, December 5 - Bower's Stew, Salad, Fried Apples, Homemade Bread with Butter, Clementines

Bower's Stew is a recipe I clipped from a local grocery ad about a year ago.  It consists of ground beef, bacon, pork and beans, red or black beans, and navy beans, flavored with liquid hickory smoke and brown sugar.  It's not quite baked beans and not quite chili, but something tasty in between.

Monday, December 6
- Tuna Salad Sandwiches, Creamed Spinach, Mac & Cheese, Corn

I was going to make pan-fried tuna patties, but tuna salad sandwiches sounded better to all of us.

Tuesday, December 7
- Mystery-shopped Pizza, Creamed Spinach, Boiled Eggs

Wednesday, December 8
- Cheeseburgers, Penne Pasta with Garlic Sauce, Leftover Corn and Creamed Spinach

The garlic sauce was from a package -- Knorr brand -- and was surprisingly good.

Thursday, December 9
- Tacos, Leftover Bower's Stew from Monday.

Friday, December 10
- Miscellaneous Leftovers from earlier in the week.

Saturday, December 11 - Taco and Burrito Bar, Guacamole, Chips, Taco-Flavored Chex Mix

We ate tacos and burritos at our friends' party.  Trish makes wonderful guacamole; I need to get her recipe.  Our contribution to the meal was taco-flavored Chex Party Mix and some homemade peanut clusters.
