Monday Morning Chit Chat - Still Offline Edition

Hello.  Just checking in again from the library.  The news about the computer isn't good.  Shane and I have exhausted our very limited computer-fixing skills and didn't get anywhere.  The next step is to call in someone who does know what they're doing and see if the fix will be affordable.  If I get back online soon, I'll post right away.

In other news, I first want to tell you that if any of you read Woman's World Magazine, I am mentioned in the current issue.  I don't have my copy with me, but I believe it may be on page 35.  It's a small section toward the top of the page about four or five different food saving products.  My comment is about the Debbie Meyer Green Bags.  That article is my 15-minutes of fame, I guess.

We had a pleasant weekend, beginning on Friday evening when we went to dinner at our friends Steve and Maria's house.  Steve is Shane's foreman a lot of the time, except when Shane is the foreman on a job himself.  Occasionally, Steve even works for Shane.  It's a complicated situation, but at the same time, it makes for less stress between boss and underling, since they never know who is going to be the boss!  Maria, Steve's wife, is a native of Chile and cooked several delicious Chilean dishes for us.  We had a great time listening to her stories about her childhood in Chile and her experiences when she first came to the United States more than twenty years ago.

Saturday, Shane went hunting again, but didn't have any luck at getting a third deer.  Kat was at her mom's for the weekend, so I drove by myself to visit my parents for the day.  On Sunday, we went out for a belated birthday dinner for Shane at Stroud's Chicken.  Stroud's is a Zagat-rated restaurant and was also featured on Man v. Food recently.  They are a down-home restaurant famous for fried chicken, but also serve other dishes.  I can't imagine going for anything but their chicken, though.  It is wonderful, third only to my mom's chicken and my best friends' mom's chicken. :)

Tomorrow I will be joining Kat and the other second graders for her Thanksgiving Feast.  Parents provide the food and they have a real sit-down meal together.  Kat volunteered me to bring some of the turkey.  Not what I would have volunteered myself, but that's alright.

On Thursday, we are hosting Shane's mom and step-dad for Thanksgiving.  I was really hoping to not have to host a meal this year, but having just two guests is really no more trouble than cooking just for us.  I decided it would also be better to host than to be a guest elsewhere; that way I can get nice and comfy after the meal.

That's about it and I'm just about out of time again here at the library computer.  I did manage to spend all my Swagbuck Amazon credits this morning on Christmas gifts for Kat, so I guess my work here is done.

Here's wishing all of you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving  and a great week and weekend for those of you who don't live in the States!

If we only lived closer and I could have my hubby check it out for you.

Found you from the soap making tutorial on Rhonda's blog. I'm planning to try it in the next few days, once my summer veggie gardening has finished.

Now I'm off to have a look around, whilke my class is doing an essay!

I love multitasking....
