Thursday Yoplait Giveaway Day!

Yesterday I received a great package on my doorstep from Yoplait and MyBlogSpark. In it was a nice, roomy insulated lunch bag, a coupon for a free cup of Yoplait Whips! and these really nifty ice cream cone-shaped frozen pops molds made by Tovolo.

I was already a fan of creamy Yoplait yogurt, but I had never tried their Yoplait Whips!, so while I was out with Kat buying school clothes and getting hair cuts, I made the grocery store my last stop. I used the coupon to pick up a cup of Whips! the Strawberry Mist flavor, and also bought one in the Chocolate Mousse flavor. Yoplait Whips! also come in Chocolate Raspberry, Key Lime Pie, Lemon Burst, Orange Créme, Peaches `N Cream, Raspberry Mousse, and Vanilla Créme flavors. I'll be trying those soon.

As soon as we got home, I peeled the foil back and tasted both yogurts. I just loved the light and fluffy texture.  I was pleasantly surprised at the sweet and tart chocolaty flavor of the Chocolate Mousse, and the Strawberry Mist was amazing!  But I took just one bite of each, because I wanted to try those ice pop molds.

Each container of yogurt filled two of the ice cream molds, so that worked out perfectly. I filled the mold, popped the tops on, gave the entire thing (molds and tray) a couple of good taps on the counter to make sure the yogurt got into the very tips of those swirls, then put them in the freezer for about hours.

The result was a deliciously light, but satisfying, dessert that was perfect after our hearty meal of beef enchiladas.

To be honest, I was just as impressed by the pop molds as I was with the Yoplait.  How many times have you tried pop molds that just don't release the pop after it's frozen?  Not these.  Their swirl design makes it easy to just twist the pop out of the mold.  All four (including the one Kat had for breakfast this morning...why not?) came out perfectly and with very little effort.
