Onion Strings

Right out of the fryer.

Here is an appetizer we had a few weeks ago. Even Kat, who isn't an onion fan, loved them. One large onion made enough for the three of us. You could whip up some kind of spicy mayo dipping sauce for them if you like, but we prefer to eat our onion strings "nekkid".

I cut the onions into julienne strips instead of rings, but otherwise, the recipe credits go to The Pioneer Woman Cooks.

Yum, and I just happen to have a deep fryer and oil to make this. I don't usually like to fry things but it's not so messy with a deep fryer. Thanks.

Oh yummy! There is a fast food joint in Sioux City called Tastee In and Out that makes the BEST batter for deep fried onions. My brother sent me the recipe a few months ago. I'm hungry for that now... Thanks for the idea! I need to dig that recipe out.

Have you tried this with jalepenos instead of onions? NUM. (No, I haven't made them, but restaurants have them - lol.)
