A Nice Surprise

Remember the review and give-away I did for Country Bob's All-Purpose Sauce about a week and a half ago? Well I just received this wonderful cookbook as a thank you from the Country Bob's folks!

What a nice surprise! I had no idea I'd receive this; it wasn't mentioned at all when I was asked to write the review.

This cookbook is hardbound, with lots of color photographs and some amazing sounding (and looking recipes).

And really, I can't hold it against the nice people at Country Bob's. They had no idea that I've been trying to kick my cookbook addiction. ;)

This reminds me that I forgot to tell you that I received my Country Bobs last week. I'm hoping to use some in a recipe but it is disappearing quickly. It's like a smoother version of steak sauce, less acidic. Love it.

I'm just afraid that once it's gone, I won't have a local source for it. I forgot to check if Wegman's carried it when I was in there on Sunday. Wegman's isn't exactly local but I can get there every now and then.

Paula: Their website says they sell it across the country, with Wal-Mart being one of the retailers. I didn't see Wegman's on the list, though.

Also, they sell it by the case (12 bottles) or half-case online, and even with shipping, it doesn't seem much more expensive than the prices I've seen in the local grocery store.

What a nice surprise! I don't think you can ever have too many cookbooks. (Though Hubby thinks I can. LOL!)

I am better though. I have been giving some away to my kids.

Frances: It's hard to pass them up sometimes. Especially when they have lots of pictures. :)

Congratulations on receiving the cookbook. I forgot to blog about what I made with the Country Bob's sauce--I made the grilled pork tenderloin--only I don't have a grill so I used my oven. My husband ate so much of the meat--I didn't think he was going to leave any for the rest of us--he went back for seconds and thirds!! I agree with Paula--the sauce is like a smoother steak sauce. I'm sorry to say I can't find it down here either and we have several Wally Worlds nearby that I checked. I will order some online though. Thanks for a new addition to our meal times. Sheila
