Guac 'Til You Drop

I love guacamole. For me, it's one of those things like pizza (and sex) that when it's good, it's great, but even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. I've tried a few guacamole recipes, but never found one I really liked, so I just made this one up. It's really not very traditional...it has Worcestershire sauce and balsamic vinegar in it, of all things! But it's the version Shane and I seem to like best.

Feel free to play around with it and make it your own.

Annie's Guacamole

5 ripe avocados
Juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 tablespoon minced onion
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
2 slices jalapeno pepper, chopped (or to taste)
1 small Roma tomato, diced (optional)

Remove avocado pulp from shells; mash with a fork. Add remaining ingredients. Stir lightly for a chunky guacamole, or more thoroughly for a smoother dip.

Makes about 2-1/2 cups.

There you go. She did the image herself, sorry about the choppy resolution.

One of these days I'll actually send you that pizza dough recipe as well... =)

Hubby loves guacamole. I've been getting him the Wholly Guacamole and he likes it. When the free coupons run out, I'll try your recipe for him.

Donna: Let me know if you like it or not.

Dad Guy: Thanks for the recipe. I've made versions with sour cream in them and I like those, too. I'll be trying it next time avocados go on sale.

Lisa: I take it that you don't like guacamole? Well, let me know what your hubby thinks of it. :)
