Typhoid Annie?

It was a pretty sweet gig yesterday, walking around a discount department store, counting customers six times a day. At the hours of 10, 1, 3, 5, 6 and 8, I walked around jotting numbers down on a map of the store and spreading my cold to anyone in the general vicinity. By the time I go back on Wednesday, counts should be way up in the Alka-Seltzer Plus and Thera-flu aisle.

The hardest part of this temp job is finding a way to kill time between counts. The store is convenient to just about everything but a library and our house. It's just far enough away that I don't want to drive home, even on the long three-hour break. Yesterday, I mostly sat in the van and read during the breaks. Tomorrow, I think I'll get my hair cut and by the end of the week, I should be done with all of my Christmas shopping.

Seems fitting, since I heard O Come All Ye Faithful over the loudspeakers yesterday. Yeah, they sandwiched it between Monster Mash and Pumpkin-Head Harvey.

What a great opportunity to people-watch... one of my favorite past-times. Although the between times would kind of suck.

I LOVE Christmas music...if it's not overplayed. Please don't make me hear it yet. ;-)

good work in sharing your cold - that is what flu season is all about!

One word ... podcasts.

Even if you don't have an MP3 player, you can download podcasts on virtually any subject and burn them to a CD.

Of course, if you get addicted, you'll have an iPod in your ears all day long. :)

in that kind of a situation I'd be doing the podcast thing too, with talk radio probably more than music. Well, for me anyhow, but I'm kind o fan information junkie that way.

Dave: There are some really scary people out there!

Tug: I think there should be a law that it shouldn't be played before Thanksgiving or after Christmas Day. :)

Violet: I'm all about sharing. Ya want some?

Ajooja & Dadguy: I haven't tried the podcast idea, but I'll have to look into it. I believe I'll be able to se my MP3 player when (if?) I work at IRS.
