Order, Please!

We have a small spare bedroom that we use for an office. It's where our computer is and where I process anything I'm selling on eBay, Half.com or craigslist. It's where I store books for the two online book-swapping clubs I'm in, and where our music and movies are stored. It's also where all of my cookbooks and craft supplies live, we're all of our photos and mementos are, and where the cats eat and poop (unfortunately there's no other suitable place for their food and litter box).

This little room does a lot for us, but it's always a huge mess. I don't think I've ever posted pics of it, not even on my old blog where I showed a lot of the renovations we have done to our home.

Today, I took on this room. It took about 6 hours, but it's so much better now. I collected a huge box and a big bag of things to donate to a thrift store, and everything else has been sorted and organized, including some filing that was at least six months old.

It's still the worst area of the house (not including the garage and basement, I'm just talking about living space), but at least now I can get some work done. As soon as I can get that blue recliner sold and out of here, we're going to put in some more shelves. Then the room will truly be functional.

Here's my desk at the beginning of the day:

And here it is now:

I go overboard with before and after shots; here are more.

Before and after.

Before and after.

Before and after.
