Weekly Menu Retrospective - 1/16 to 1/22

I'm a menu planner, but when I've tried to post my weekly menus here in the past, they weren't accurate because I often change things at the last minute. On the other hand, I really like being able to look back to see what we've eaten, what we loved, what we disliked, and most of all being able to link to the recipes on my menus that have come from other blogs. That's why I prefer to post my weekly menus after the fact.

**********

Last week's menu was very short and simple.  I cooked Sunday and Friday, the day before Shane left to work out of town and the day he came home.  The rest of the week, we scrounged for leftovers from the fridge and freezer.  That in itself is not so unusual, but to do it for most of the week is probably a first.

Sunday, January 16 - Chili with corn chips and sour cream, salad, carrot sticks

I had made venison sloppy joes the week before and used the leftover meat mixture in the chili.

Friday, January 21 - Beef tips in gravy, mashed potatoes, glazed Brussels sprouts, green beans, homemade rolls.

Again, I used venison instead of beef.  I like either one, but find that the venison makes a richer tasting gravy.

Friday's meal sounds like Heaven! But love the fact that you got by with only cooking twice, ahhh now that's my kind of week!
