Monday Morning Chit Chat - The Sandman Skipped Me Edition

So, is anyone else as tired as I am this morning?  I wasn't able to get to sleep until well after midnight, and even then it seemed like I only dozed lightly.  I didn't even get up to see Shane off to work for the week.  He left around 4:00 a.m., but I just couldn't get up, knowing I'd have to get up again no later than 7:00 to get Kat ready for school.  Christmas vacation and all the snow days have really messed up my sleep schedule.  I need to get back on track with getting up at 6:00 and turning out the light by 11:00.  I feel better when I stick to that schedule.

Shane is out of town again for the week.  But I have a way to keep tabs on him now.  There's a video cam on his job site!  Only problem is that as I type this, the camera seems to have ice or frost on the lens.  It should clear off in a while, though, since it looks like it's sunny in Manhattan, KS, this morning.  If any of you are interested at all, you can check out the job site here.  I'm told the camera runs live during the day, but if the lens is still frosted, you can click on other calendar dates for still shots or run the time lapse of the entire project.  This is what the view from the camera should like like when it's done.  And if you want to know what he's building, you can go to this website to find out.  It should be a fun place to visit...which we plan on doing when it opens in late summer.

So, back to the business at hand.  How was your weekend?  Ours was kind of busy.  A lot has to be done in a short amount of time to get Shane ready to go back to work.  Saturday we spent much of the day running around town -- going to the bank, going to a few stores for necessities, and having lunch.  The rest of Saturday and part of Sunday was spent doing Shane's laundry and getting it repacked, then spending some down time together.  I also took time to do our tax returns.  I did them electronically (for the first time), but I wanted to do them while Shane was home in case there was a signature page I needed to mail in.  I know with some e-filings there is, but we were able to e-sign all of ours.  We'll be getting refunds from Fed, KS and MO, so that will definitely help us out, especially if Shane gets laid off for a while after his current job is done.  Not to mention, I'm just happy that I was able to get those done and crossed off my to-do list early this year.

Not much else happened over the weekend for us, and I'm really hoping for a more normal week this week.  Shane's working, Kat's at school (between snow, a sick day and a holiday, she only went one day last week) and I might actually get something done around around here this week.  I don't have much on my personal calendar this week, but my blog calendar says I have another CSN Store giveaway to post tomorrow.  Stay tuned for that!

Hope all of you have a great week!  Me?  I think I'm headed for a nap.

It's a little early for a nap! You might want to clean the fridge out first... :)
Good job to you for e-filing so early! My hubby usually takes a month or so to make sure he's done it all correctly before he hits "send".

I could not sleep last night either. I usually have a strict rule about not looking at the clock or getting up when I can't sleep but last night I decided to turn on the television for a while. I finally got to sleep well past midnight. Sunday nights are always a problem for me.

McVal: I usually do mine on paper, then run it through an e-file program to check it for accuracy, then mail the paper forms in rather than pay to file. For some reason, I've never been able to get the e-file forms on the IRS website to work for me, although I've tried for several years.

We're usually over the income limit for free e-filing, but this year we were under by just a few dollars, so I was able to file Fed and MO for free. :) And ever since KS has had online filing, it's been free for all filers. So it's all good!

CJ: I just talked to Shane and it seems to have been a wide-spread problem among the guys he works with, too, last night. Must have been something in the air...

I hope the sandman comes quick for you. Hmmm, didn't sound right.
I checked out Shane's job site and all I saw was a frosted window. SO it's the same as our windows. But I did check out what they are building and it is amazing. I would be proud to be a part of something so cool.
Have a great week!

I checked out the jobsite, too. What a gorgeous building that will be. Hope you have/had a nice nap and that the week is nice and calm for you.

We had a nice weekend. Hubby and I went to Dollar General for some stock up items. I had a $5 orr $25 coupon and knew that we were going to shop there anyway, might as well go when the coupon was good. LOL! Then we went to eat a a local BBQ place that Hubby had found a coupon for. It was yummy!

The evening was just spent relaxing.

Yesterday, I watched some tv, then went to the grocery store. When I got home, I spent the evening working on our computer. It still needs more work, but we are getting there.

Fred took the kids and let me drink in peace on Saturday afternoon. So I would say that 50$ of my weekend was nice.
Thanks for asking! m.

I'll join you for that nap since I was up until 4am.
Ugh....

The kids here had 2 whole days of school last week b/c of the weather and a 2 hr. delay this morning too b/c of the extreme cold.
We are raising a generation of woosies...lolol

Now that you finished your taxes you can come over and help me do mine!
Ugh and Double Ugh

Nice Tourist Site he's building and camera thingy....I think Shane waved to me!lol

SonyaAnn: And you say I'm bad...

Frances: It's nice to know there's going to be something interesting in the middle of Kansas. Oops...hi Melinda...and any other KS readers I may have...

Mark: I'm kid-free next weekend. I love her but sometimes it's nice to have a grown-up weekend.

Sluggy: Ok on the nap, but I get the top bunk.

And to make up for my above insult, we truly are looking forward to seeing the Discovery Center when it's finished.

Omg! I am so frickin tired. If the kids don't get back to school everyday I am going to pull my hair OUT!

I spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday deep cleaning. I needed to move and it is too cold to go outside for me. lol

The link finally worked for the job site. That is pretty cool.

Just popping in to say 'hi', I'm behind as usual, but I'm always in the background. Like a stalker, but not. ;-)

It feels so good getting the tax return done and out of the way nice and early doesn't it? No rebates for me, but I didn't owe them anything either:)

I'm only awake and I could easily go for a nap now, my sleep patterns have been up the left since Christmas.
