Monday Morning Chit Chat - Glad It's Monday Edition

Have I already done a "Glad It's Monday Edition"? I'm always happy for Monday morning to arrive. Weekends can be fun, or stressful, depending on what we have going on. Either way, they are always more disorganized than the rest of the week. Again, depending on what we have going on, that can be good disorganization or bad. I'm always ready for Monday morning to roll around so I can get back to my routines and yes, I admit it, have some quiet time to myself.

This past weekend was a busy one. On Saturday we moved my daughter Jean and her husband into their first home as homeowners. The move went very well, as far as moves go, but I was still wiped out by the end of the day.

That fatigue carried over to yesterday. Shane and I went out for a while to a place called US Toy, where we bought junk trinkets for the Halloween party we're going to on Saturday. You know, things like gooey worms, bloody fingers, gooshy brains, etc. I can't believe we spent 90 minutes in that store! It's not just a toy store, though. They carry lots and lots of party goods (both themed and unthemed), educational toys and lots and lots of supplies for the classroom or home school environment. Most things are very reasonably priced.

After shopping for body parts, we headed over to Penzey's Spices. I didn't even know we had a Penzey's in our city, but a newspaper clipping they had framed showed they've been there since 2002. Personally, I think they are a bit pricey compared to where I usually buy spices (health food stores or Amish bulk stores), but they did have what I was hunting, which was juniper berries.

Shane and I had a minor disagreement (oops) about if and where to have lunch out, so we just came back home and I heated some leftover soup for myself and left him to fend for himself (oops). Then I collapsed on the couch for a two hour nap. I was much more pleasant to be around after that, but I still had no motivation to get anything done. I even ended up calling our local sandwich place to have sandwiches delivered for supper (again, oops). Fortunately, there was no argument over it from anyone.

So that was my weekend. What was yours like? What's in store for your week ahead.

I have three lovely days to catch up on chores that for one reason or another I've neglected since last Thursday, then school will be out on Thursday and Friday and all my work will probably be undone. Oh well, that's the way it goes around here. Kat has an evening birthday party at Power Play to attend on Thursday night, which is fine since school is out the next day. On Friday I need to make whatever treats I'm taking to our friends Halloween party. Saturday evening is the party and Sunday evening we'll do a little (very little, I think) trick-or-treating with Kat. So yeah, it's another busy week for us.

I always get a good chuckle when I see your "I'm so glad it's Monday" type posts. I thought I was the ONLY PERSON on the face of the planet who loved Mondays....until you came into my life!lol
Family togetherness is great but only in well-measured small doses. Hmm, I think I'll make that my facebook status......

And you have to post a pic of what you went as to the Halloween party and what Kat decides to be for T-or-T'ing.

Oh, pictures will be taken and posted. Shane tried his wig on yesterday afternoon and had me laughing for a good long while.

I always liked Monday, even when I worked outside the home, but more so now that I stay home. It probably sounds odd, rude and/or conceited, but I enjoy my own company better than any one else's.

I love Mondays, too. They are a refreshing break from the weekend chaos.

Love the post! I'm so glad it's Monday too. Not for the work/routine portion of it... but for the mere fact that I get to sit down for 8 hours! ahhhhh....

My upcoming weekend is pretty much a carbon copy of yours. But somewhere in there I want to get the garage cleaned out. YUCK!
Have a great week!

I have to make a special dessert for a gathering on Thursday evening, so that'll be different from the norm. Then, I am still in my fall cleaning mode which is driving the family crazy, but oh well!! LOL

I love the order that Monday usually brings, though that did not happen today. My husband decided to work from home and both my sons are sick. I'm hoping Tuesday will be better! Thanks for making me smile!
