I didn't get back online to update my grocery spending like I said I would yesterday. I had sinus pain Tuesday afternoon as a storm front was moving through, but when it hadn't eased up as of yesterday midday, I gave in and called my nurse practitioner. There were no appointments available, but she called a big fat antibiotic prescription in for me. I just downed my third dose and it no longer feels like someone is driving a spike into my face. Oh, alright, I'm sure that would feel much worse in reality, but you get the idea.
Someone else might use being sick as an excuse for falling off her own pantry challenge bandwagon. But not me, uh-uh. I have no excuse. Two stores had some good store coupons -- some of them the same as last week -- and I simply gave in to a few bargains that I didn't strictly need to buy yet. I also gave in to convenience, as our garden is keeping me busy and is taking precedence over things like bread baking. Still, I think I did fairly well, dollar-wise.

I hope you feel a little less crappy soon. I've been running into lots of people with sinus infections lately.
You've spent less this month than I spend in a week on groceries.
I hope you're mended soon. I am inspired to shop my pantry (freezer) for the month of August.
I hope you are feeling much better real soon!! I too, have heard of lots of sinus infections and such recently. Even sick you do much better than me!! Hope your weekend is pain free!!
I know the exact pain you are talking about! And a spike in the face would probably not feel worse.
I have been having sinus problems lately and am hating it. Fortunately, no infection yet, but the head full of concrete feeling is no fun either.
Good job on your pantry challenge!
Sorry I haven't been around. It's been a busy week. I've been really working hard at getting my butt back to the gym.
I'm sorry you're not feeling up to par. I get the facial spike thing. I woke with my own this morning.
I think a lot of this sinus infection stuff has to do with going from drier a/c cooled rooms to the heat/humid outdoors air. That change in atmosphere can not be good for our sinuses...
I know the spike feeling, tho I call it the 400 lb. gorilla jammed behind my eyeballs, kicked his way out.lol
Do you neti pot?
I highly recommend it! I use to get many sinus infections a yr(6 or so). Then the ENT gave me some instructions 10 yrs ago. I've maybe had 1 or 2 a yr. since then. It didn't get rid of them but it sure helped! If you want to know what he told me to do, let me know....otherwise I'll just shut up.... ;-)
Thank you to everyone. I'm feeling much better now.
Sluggy, no, I don't neti pot. I should probably try it, but every time in my life I've ever had water up my nose it's hurt like hell, so I'm kind of afraid to try it.
