Kat has recently become bewitched with re-runs of the TV show Bewitched. I have the DVR set up to record it at least four times a day on two different channels, and Kat's watching as many episodes as she can get her eyes on. In my opinion, it's better than letting her watch cartoons all day.
She's especially intrigued by the opening credits, where the animated Samantha turns herself into a cat and jumps into Darrin's (Durwood's? Darwin's?) arms.
I'm especially intrigued by her kitchen range with the twin ovens with lift-up doors and the pull-out burners. I almost bought a house with a range like that, but it didn't pass inspection (the house, not the range).
Imagine all the meals I could make with that baby. Holidays would be a breeze. I could put a turkey in one oven, rolls and pumpkin pie in the other, veggies on the stove top. Then I'd just wiggle my nose and Voila! Thanksgiving dinner is served. What modern housewife wouldn't go for an appliance like that?

I loved Bewitched!! I too could use a stove and ovens like that--I like that everything goes away--nice and neatly. I just loved Samantha's aunt who was always making mistakes--she tried so hard but couldn't quite make things work.

I never paid attention to Samantha's kitchen, but I sure would love to have 2 ovens. My dream kitchen will have that.

If I'm not mistaken her stove was a Frigidaire Flair electric. If I ever run across one of these I will snatch it up unless I find one like Racheal Rays first! I love these ranges!

One more thought, you mentioned cooking a turkey in one... These oven are equipped with a rotissiere (sp?). I want a rotiss. soooo bad. Wouldn't that be great to cook whole chickens and such with? Maybe even a small turkey? ~~~~dreaming~~~~

My dream set-up would be to have a commercial-size electric convection oven, wall-mounted and with French doors for easy access, then a separate gas cook top with at least 5 burners!

I enjoyed the show as a child and enjoyed watching the reruns with my kids! We lived in some homes that have had vintage stoves and ovens, including double stoves, and it truely was much easier to put together feasts in those kitchens (even if they were much smaller than modern kitchen).
Alea: I have an over-the-stove microwave that doubles as a convection oven. It helps, but it just isn't the same as having another full-size oven.
