A Kitten for Kat (aka, Annie's Turning Into A Crazy Cat Lady)

Last Friday, Shane brought home a new addition to our family -- a Manx kitten! Manx = cute without a tail! She tends to hop instead of run, so Kat has named her Bunny.

We brought Bunny home in hopes that she will be a good playmate for both Kat and our 1-year-old cat, Siesta. Siesta loves to play, but she's rowdier than Kat can handle most of the time. Our 7-year-old cat, Tuxie, will not play with Kat or Siesta at all.

So far, so good. To Kat's delight, Bunny will sit or nap quietly on her lap and never tries to nip at her. For the first couple of days, Siesta slapped and hissed at Bunny, but they have since become best of friends, whether playing...

...or sleeping.

Not to be left out, here is a picture of Tuxie.

So, now our indoor cat count is up to three. But we are also feeding an outdoor stray who is pregnant. She seems to like our yard because we are one of the few houses without a dog. We also have a large deck to shelter her. If we are able to catch her and locate the kittens after they are born (both are unlikely scenarios) we will take them to a local no-kill shelter. Otherwise, I guess we'll be feeding her for a while.

Cute little kitten. If you're the cat lady then I must be the bag lady. Considering I don't go shopping that often I have a LOT of reuseable shoppers.
