Anyone besides me a fan of personal finance advisor Dave Ramsey?
If you've not heard of him (or even if you have), search out his name on YouTube. I'm not going to embed any of the videos here, because I'm not sure he's authorized their release. But I'm still going to recommend you watch them, especially "Dumping Debt" series. There are nine parts to the series, but they are each just a quick, entertaining ten minutes long.
Dave Ramsey is entertaining, funny and knows his stuff. Take a look.

Dave Ramsey is a good guy. I think you need to tailor things to your own needs, but mostly what he talks about are principles rather than opinions, and he gets it spot on often.
Dadguy: Sure. I agree. For example, Dave Ramsey advocates not having ANY credit cards. We're more comfortable hanging on to just one, with a low limit, especially until we can get an emergency fund started and beefed up.
Agreed. That's a spot I disagree with there. I understand his reasons for his stance, but for us using credit cards wisely actually helps us budget. And in our case we get an extra $150 or so a year due to the cash back bonuses without paying interest.
